Chapter 1 / 2

Before arriving

When new people join your team, you will want to:
  • Make them feel they made the right choice

  • Get them “ready to perform” as quickly as possible

  • Help them learn the culture

  • Enable them to become part of the team

Chapter 2 / 2

First week

IN GENERAL

Spread “orientation” over several days – do not try to provide them with everything
they need to know about the team and function in one day.
Schedule a chunk of your time during their first day to meet with them – do not let anything interfere with it. Try to avoid bringing on
any new hires when you are away.
If possible, ask your direct manager or another senior leader in your
area to reach out to the new employee to welcome them to the
company.

WORK SPACE

Connect with your local office manager and or your local recruiter to assemble necessary supplies, equipment,
computer, e-mail, systems, security tag, etc. before they begin work...be sure their work area is ready before
their arrival.
